So over the last year we worked quite a lot on environmental projects. Tantrwm became a "Green Dragon" level 2 organisation. What does that mean? Well we recycle, use fair trade products, use the train when possible and dispose of old products in the correct manner.
sticking with our environmental beliefs, one of the films we have been made is shown here. Rhys Cycle lives in Bryn Bewti and with the help of "Auntie Litter" he fights the evil polluting ambitions of Dr. Paul Lution!
Enjoy.

Oceans of Waste
Tantrwm recently worked on a amazing project with some visionary young people. "Oceans of Waste!" is the result. The young people worked with professional song writers and created the song early in 2008. Tantrwm were then asked to create a video with the young people.
Pupils from Tonyrefail comprehensive school devised the idea of a bottle floating off into sea. Well, although we would have liked to jump in a speedboat with our cameras, the budget would not stretch that far. We decided using animation was the only way forward.
"Oceans of Waste" is a live action and animated tale of the destruction we are doing every day to our fragile earth.
We hope you enjoy and appreciate the hard work from all involved, and maybe take some action yourself.

Love where you live!
Educating young people about respect and love for their immediate surroundings is essential in creating a future with a high quality of life for all who live, work, visit and play that community.
"Love where you live!" documents one approach that RCTs Environmental Services takes to communicate with primary school children. A whole week of activity and educative fun takes place in RCTs "Ynysangharad Park", with a firm focus on respecting your environment and "Loving where you live".
The film give a flavor of the event and there are some interesting comments from the young people interviewed.
Enjoy!

Carlos Man Welly
I have to share this with you all.
A couple of mates of mine, nipped out one Sunday afternoon and came back with this short video
It has already had nearly 5000 hits on youtube.
Not bad for an afternoon with a cheapo camcorder and a simple edit suit.
Enjoy

Chris Summerill Album Launch
Tantrwm love music. Our latest collaboration has been with the singer/songwriter Chris Summerill .
We created a CMS website for him and manufactured his first single, then, for his album, we printed 5000 glossy leaflets, 100 A3 posters, 1000 CD Albums and filmed the launch gig.
At the launch we shot a live 4 camera vision mix, using Sony Z7 and Canon XL1 cameras.
Two of Chris' students were fantastic camera men and runners (Thanks Matthew and Gareth).
Enjoy one of the songs by pressing play.
If you are a band manager or promoter and would like a package similar to that offered to Chris then contact Andrew at Tantrwm to explore ideas.

Our First Light Films on S4C
S4C, The Welsh Language Broadcaster, gave our three First Light Films an amazing bit of airtime on their primetime youth programme "Mosgito".
The show is streaming for around 30 days after broadcast so be quick. Our slot is at 8 minutes.
Menter Iaith took the young people who created the films to the S4C studios for a well earned and enjoyed afternoon, culminating in a lengthy live broadcast. Stars from the three varied films were interviewed in Welsh and English.
The project has shown how partner working benefits all and that great films can be made with small resources.

First Light Films - Menter Iaith!
For the last year Tantrwm has been working with Menter Iaith RCT to create three films with a Welsh flavour. The films were funded by a grant from First Light Movies and a donnation from Real Valleys Media.
Last week we held a glamorous premier at the Gartholwg Life Long learning Centre.
Young people from three participating schools joined us for the evening and saw their films on the big screen for the first time.
First up was "The Boys got Balls", followed by "Boudicca" and finally "Marty O Mars".
The event was filmed by the BBC and screened on S4C.
We cant wait for the next one.

Rhondda Breast Friends
There is a great organisation in the Rhondda that help and support people who are suffering with, have been the victim of, or are a family member of someone with Cancer.
We have helped out in the past making a small video for Rhondda Breast Friends.
Now we are creating a new website.
The site is under development right now.

The Alabama 3 are "Burning down the house!"
Tantrwm documented the first ever Cwmaman Music Festival.
Being fans of many of the artists playing, how could we say no to a weekend of varied music, a pint of Aberdare, and the local characters that make the valleys great.
We got more than we anticipated though. With our ears ringing from the Saturday night 127dB (so say the guys at solar studios!) we thought nothing of a piercing ringing on the Sunday night. However this was no rave music. It was the fire alarms.
Three hundred people were ushered out onto the street. How fantastic it was to see the local fireman cheered and wolf whistled by the crowd as they arrived to turn the alarms off. A real treat.
The Alabama 3 headlined the Sunday with an anticipated acoustic set. It was great.
Watch our site for some sample films soon.
Other acts on the night included:
Killing for Company
The Watermelons
Colum Regan
Dirty Love
Rag Foundation
The Kix
Semantics
Kadesha

Dragons Den
Aaaaggghhh!!!!
Do you watch Dragons Den?
The camera work is doing my head in.
When they do the interviews with the Presenter, Evan Davies, the camera work is annoying.
Watch it. Hand held rubbish. Formulaic BBC trash! (i love the programme though!)
Presenter: 1 or half sentence, Camera: Hand held zoom
Presenter: another sentence or half. Camera: move left or right.
Another sentence, camera zooms in.
Aaaaagggghhhh! Stop it. Please.

Ideal Business Show
Well its not very Speilberg or Kubrick i know, we are off to the Ideal Business Show in Cardiff today.
Why?
Well we have a great product that we want to showcase and get some people using!
We have great designers here at Tantrwm and a knowledge of the web and video that is really useful for some of the smaller businesses out there.
So we are offering to build them (and you) a fantastic video focused website that shows off their products and services in the best way.
And the best bit for our customers - it only costs a £1000.
Yep, for a website, hosting, CMS, vox pop video, encoding and streaming.
We will let you all know how we get on!

RHYSCYCLE is our latest.
