It’s Craig H again.
I’ve been here at Tantwm a month now and the pace hasn’t relented one bit. Still busy, busy with most of my time being spent making the Groundwork documentary.
This has involved me zipping around the valley’s videoing volunteers as they go about their work for various organisations.
One of the highlights so far has to be the Interlink Awards. Abercwmboi Rugby Club was transformed for the glamourous ceremony with everyone in attendance adorned in his or her finest togs. It reminded me a bit of Royal Ascot, only without all the horses and instead of the queen we had Stan Stennett MBE hosting.
Part of the ceremony involved a live vote, where the audience got to choose who they thought were most deserving of an award using a state of the art keypad (think Matthew Kelly’s YouBet and you’re on the right track). Seconds before the vote, with one hundred manicured index fingers poised above the keypad buttons, the computer powering it all crashed. Did they manage to get it back up and running in time???... Well yes, Team Tantrwm was there to save the day with another catastrophe narrowly averted.
